On August 27, 2025, Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College, Kottarakkara, came alive with colors, joy, and the true essence of Kerala’s grandest festival — Onam. The event, titled “Aaravam 2K25”, was organized by the Ektha College Union and commenced at 8:30 AM with great enthusiasm and festive spirit.
The college campus was beautifully adorned with traditional floral decorations and pookkalams that reflected the cultural richness of Kerala. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with laughter and music, perfectly captured the spirit of unity and togetherness that Onam symbolizes.
The celebration began with a warm welcome ceremony followed by the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing prosperity and happiness. Students and teachers came dressed in traditional Kerala attire, adding to the authenticity of the celebration. The highlight of the event was the majestic arrival of Mahabali, the beloved king of Kerala, whose presence brought smiles and cheer across the campus.
A variety of cultural programs were organized, including Thiruvathira, Onappattu, skits, games, and group performances. Each performance showcased the creativity and talent of the students, blending entertainment with the values of tradition and community spirit. The event also featured fun-filled competitions that encouraged participation and teamwork among students.
No Onam celebration is complete without the grand feast — the Onasadya. The delicious spread of traditional Kerala dishes brought everyone together, strengthening the sense of unity and belonging.
The celebration of Aaravam 2K25 was not just a festival; it was a beautiful reminder of cultural heritage, love, and harmony. It created lasting memories for everyone who attended and reinforced the spirit of “Ektha” — unity in diversity.
