 Teaching practice - phase I - weekly reflection - 4


Day - 18

4 August 2025

Today was the eighteen th day of teaching practice at NGPM Venchempu. We reached the school by 9:15 am. The day began with a beautiful prayer song led by the school students from 9:35 to 9:40 am. Following this, we moved to our respective classes. My class was IX B. I asked a few questions on the topics from previous class. I then move on to the topic mid section of the chapter parallel lines. The students listened attentively and responded actively, which boosted my confidence and made the teaching experience smooth and enjoyable.

I had a free period next, which I used effectively to prepare my teaching materials and lesson plans for the following periods. After lunch, I had another free period, which I used to review my teaching and reflect on possible improvements. In the last period, I had another free period, and I used it effectively to prepare my teaching materials and lesson plans.


Day - 19

5 August 2025


On the nineteenth day of my teaching practice, we reached the school at 9:20 am. The day opened with a melodious prayer song presented by the students from 9:35 to 9:40 am, which set a calm and positive tone for the day.

Soon after, I went to my allotted class, IX B. To begin, I interacted with the learners by revisiting concepts from the previous lesson. I then introduced the new portion on the Mid-section of a Triangle from the chapter Parallel Lines. The students showed keen interest, answered promptly, and participated with enthusiasm. Their active involvement gave me confidence and helped the class progress smoothly.

During the next free period, I utilized the time to organize my lesson notes and prepare materials for upcoming sessions. After the lunch break, I had another free period, which I spent reflecting on my teaching performance and planning improvements. In the last period too, I was free, and I made the best use of it by preparing additional teaching resources and lesson outlines.

The day proved to be both fruitful and motivating, as I was able to balance classroom teaching with preparation and reflection.


Day 20

6 August 2025

The twentieth  day of my teaching practice started with our arrival at the school at 9:15 am. From 9:35 to 9:40 am, the students presented a soothing prayer song, creating a peaceful atmosphere to begin the day.

After the prayer, I moved to my assigned class, IX B. I initiated the session by revising the ideas discussed in the previous lesson. Then, I introduced the new topic, Mid-section of a Triangle, from the chapter Parallel Lines. The learners responded actively, answered questions confidently, and showed genuine interest in the activities. Their participation made the teaching experience lively and effective.

In the subsequent free period, I arranged my lesson plans and organized the materials required for upcoming classes. Post-lunch, I had another free session, which I used for self-evaluation and to think of ways to improve my teaching strategies. The final period of the day was also free, and I utilized the time to prepare extra teaching aids and draft outlines for future lessons.

The day turned out to be both productive and inspiring, as it allowed me to combine actual teaching with preparation and self-reflection.


Day 21

7 August 2025

Today I reached the school at 9:15 am. From 9:35 to 9:40 am, the students sang a calming prayer song, which set a pleasant tone for the rest of the day.

Soon after, I went to my class, IX B. I started the lesson by recalling the points covered in the previous session and then moved on to introduce a fresh topic—Mid-section of a Triangle from the unit Parallel Lines. The learners took part eagerly, answered my questions with confidence, and showed genuine curiosity in the activities. Their active involvement made the class engaging and effective.

In the next free hour, I spent time arranging my lesson plans and preparing the resources needed for my upcoming sessions. After the lunch break, another free period was available, which I made use of for self-assessment and for thinking about improvements in my teaching methods. The last period of the day was also unoccupied, and I used that time to design extra teaching aids and draft outlines for future lessons.

Altogether, the day proved to be both fruitful and inspiring, as it gave me the opportunity to balance actual teaching with preparation and thoughtful reflection.


Day 22

8 August 2025

I reached the school by 9:10am. Between 9:35 and 9:40 am, the students presented a gentle prayer song, which created a pleasant and welcoming start to the day.Afterwards, I moved to my allotted class, IX B. I began the session by reviewing the ideas discussed in the previous lesson and then introduced a new portion—Mid-section of a Triangle from the chapter Parallel Lines. The learners listened with interest, responded promptly to my questions, and participated actively in the activities, which made the class lively and effective.

In the following free period, I arranged my lesson notes and prepared materials required for the upcoming lessons. Post lunch, another free session gave me time to reflect on my teaching practices and think of ways to enhance them. The last hour of the timetable was also unoccupied, which I used for preparing extra learning aids and drafting outlines for future classes.Altogether, the day turned out to be meaningful and satisfying, as it provided me with the chance to balance classroom teaching, preparation, and reflective learning.
