Premarital Counseling Session at Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College


The Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College, Kottarakkara, in collaboration with the Department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala, organized a Premarital Counseling session on 16 October 2025. The program was conducted at the college seminar hall from 10:00 AM onwards, bringing together students, faculty, and guests to explore the significance of emotional, social, and health preparedness for marriage.


Dignitaries and Guests


The session was inaugurated by H.G. Thomas Mar Luca, College Administrator. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Indira Ravindran, B.Ed. Department Head and Faculty in charge of organizing the event. Their inspiring words emphasized the importance of guidance and awareness among young adults as they prepare for their future lives and responsibilities.


Theme of the Program


The theme of the session was “Healthy Family Relationships” (ആരോഗ്യകരമായ കുടുംബബന്ധങ്ങൾ). The class was led by Smt. Beena George S.G., Director, Life Foundation, Keralapuram. She highlighted the essential aspects of mutual respect, trust, emotional intelligence, and mental health within marital relationships. The interactive session allowed students to ask questions and clarify doubts, creating a meaningful learning atmosphere.


Purpose of the Program


Premarital counseling is a vital initiative aimed at helping individuals build strong, understanding, and respectful relationships before marriage. By addressing emotional maturity, communication skills, financial understanding, and health awareness, the program encourages students to make informed life decisions.

Teaching practice - phase I - weekly reflection - 6


Day 28

8 September 2025

Today was the twenty-eighth day of teaching practice at NGPM Venchempu. We reached the school by 9:15 am as usual. The day started with a short prayer session from 9:35 to 9:40 am, which created a calm and focused atmosphere for learning.

My class was IX B. I started the lesson by asking a few questions related to the previous topic to assess the students’ understanding. I then continued with the chapter Parallel Lines. The students listened attentively and responded actively throughout the session.

During my free time, I organized my lesson plans and prepared teaching aids for the upcoming lessons. The day went smoothly and gave me more confidence in handling the class.


Day 29

9 September 2025

This was the twenty-ninth day of my teaching practice. We arrived at the school by 9:15 am. The morning prayer session from 9:35 to 9:40 am set a positive tone for the day.

I handled IX B and began the class by revising the key points of the previous lesson. I then introduced new concepts in the chapter Parallel Lines. The students were very interactive, asking questions and sharing their thoughts, which made the class lively and engaging.

In my free periods, I made some preparations for upcoming activities and reviewed my teaching strategies. Overall, it was a productive and satisfying day.


Day 30

10 September 2025


Today marked the thirtieth day of my teaching practice. We reached the school at the usual time, and the day began with a short prayer session led by the students.

I continued teaching IX B and started the class with a few oral questions to refresh the students’ memory. Then I moved on with the lesson, making sure to give more examples to help them understand the topic better. The students were focused and participated well.

During the free periods, I spent time preparing lesson plans and evaluating students’ notebooks. The day was pleasant and encouraging.

11 September 2025

This was the thirty-first day of teaching practice at NGPM Venchempu. We reached the school by 9:15 am. The day started with a brief prayer session, creating a positive start.

I began my IX B class with a short recap of the previous lesson, followed by a detailed explanation of the remaining part of the Parallel Lines chapter. The students were enthusiastic and responded well, which made the class more enjoyable to handle.

In the free periods, I used the time to plan for the next set of lessons and make some improvements to my teaching approach. The day ended on a positive and productive note.

12 September 2025

Today was the thirty-second day of teaching practice. We arrived at the school on time, and the day began with a short prayer session from 9:35 to 9:40 am.

My class was IX B. I began by clarifying a few doubts the students had from the previous day. Then I continued with the topic of Parallel Lines. The students showed good involvement and maintained their interest throughout the lesson.

During my free periods, I reviewed my lesson plans and prepared materials for the upcoming week. It was a meaningful and fruitful day that strengthened my classroom experience.
