A workshop on blog creation

On September 3, 2024, the B.Ed first-year students had the privilege of attending an insightful workshop on blog creation, facilitated by Harilal Sir. The session began at 9:30 AM and was designed to introduce students to the world of blogging, a powerful tool for educators to share knowledge, reflect on experiences, and engage with a broader audience. The workshop was not only informative but also hands-on, providing students with the skills needed to start their own educational blogs.

Workshop Objectives
The main goal of the workshop was to familiarize students with the basics of blogging and its potential as a professional development tool in education. Harilal Sir emphasized the importance of blogs in sharing resources, reflecting on teaching practices, and fostering a sense of community among educators and learners alike.

Understanding the Basics of Blogging

Harilal Sir started with an introduction to what a blog is and why it has become a crucial tool in today’s digital world. He explained how blogging can serve as both a personal and professional space, allowing educators to share experiences, instructional techniques, and resources that benefit a wider audience.
Creating a Blog: A Step-by-Step Guide

Harilal Sir then walked us through the process of creating a blog from scratch. Key topics included:

• Setting up an account and Selecting a suitable blog theme that represents an educational focus.

• Customizing the blog layout for easy navigation and reader engagement.
Hands-On Practice

One of the highlights of the workshop was the practical session, where each student had the opportunity to create and customize their own blog. Harilal Sir provided individual support, addressing challenges and helping us with layout choices, design tweaks, and initial posts.

My Reflections

At the end of the workshop, students shared their thoughts on the experience. Many expressed excitement about the possibilities of blogging as a medium for reflection, resource sharing, and professional growth. Harilal Sir’s clear, step-by-step guidance made the process approachable and enjoyable for everyone involved.

This workshop was an invaluable experience for all the participants. By the end of the session, each of us had a functional blog to call our own. The workshop not only equipped us with technical skills but also inspired us to see blogging as a way to contribute to the field of education.

We look forward to continuing our blogging journey, sharing insights from our classrooms, and connecting with the broader teaching community. A heartfelt thanks to Harilal Sir for his time, expertise, and dedication to helping us get started on this path!
